Nehemiah 1:9 (KJV)
“But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.”
God wants to use each one of us, but He also wants to develop us into people who are more usable to Him. As we look at the life of Nehemiah, we will learn many qualities of service and leadership.
Here Nehemiah inquired about the city and his brother Hanani and some other Jews concerning came to know the great Wall has been destroyed and the people who were left are survived are in great distress
The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
Then his heart was burdened and he prayed and fasted mourned for several days and cried and wept and and prayed God that there let their are open and their ears are attentive. eyes and ears are ,he prayed yes we have not obeyed God’s commandments, dealt very corruptly against all the judgement and commandments which God has given to Moses.
But the man that God used to do something about it not only heard about the need. He felt their need. He wept, mourned, fasted and prayed for days about what he had heard. He just couldn’t put it out of his mind. God used that burden as the basis for action.
He didn’t turned back as at that time most of Jews heard about it but again busy in their lives.
But Nehemiah was concerned about his people.that time people heard about these things but never concerned but they have listens it and forget it,the same way when Noah spoken to people but nobody put their ears on the word of God ,from time to time God’s Prophets warning God ,praying for their Deliverence .
Nehemiah Prayed with humality “Both my father’s house and I have sinned. We have acted very corruptly against You: Humility identifies with the needy. Obviously, Nehemiah was a godly man; but he openly put himself with his father’s house, and prayed by using “we” instead of “they.”
Knowing that you’re saved because God first chose you in spite of your sin is essential in battling guilt. It means that no one can produce new evidence to get God to change His mind and disown you, because He chose you before the foundation of the world, knowing all about your sins that you would commit both before and after He saved you.
Nehemiah comes to God looking to God’s promises.
This is a powerful way to come to God, asking Him to remember His promises. Nehemiah said, “LORD, You made a promise to Moses and this nation, I ask you now to make good on it.” We may be a bit annoyed when one of our children comes to us saying, you promised”; but our Father in heaven delight in it and often demands it before prayer becomes effective.
Psalm 81:10,”God says to His people, Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.”God will not open His storehouse until we open our mouths in asking Him to perform His promises.
Nehemiah concluded by asking God to bless him when he would soon speak to the king of Persia about the matter. Nehemiah was going to do something about the sorry state of Jerusalem’s walls and people, and he knows without God’s intervention, he can do nothing.
Recognition of need must be followed by earnest, persistent waiting upon God until the overwhelming sense of world need becomes a specific burden .
Laying the matter to heart, he did not begin to speak with other people about what they would do, or draw up a wonderful scheme about what might be done if so many thousand people joined.but it occurred to him that he would do something himself.
That’s what the reason when God has sent his son ,but ah we don’t even listened to him and crucified him.Jesus says “Ask and it shall be given”
That’s what God want from us that we should also concerned about our fellow brothers.
would like to share this small story
A man was asked to paint a boat.He brought with him paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red, as the owner asked him. While painting, he noticed that there was a small hole in the hull, and quietly repaired it.When finished painting, he received his money and left. The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented him with a nice cheque, much higher than the payment for painting. The painter was surprised and said “You’ve already paid me for painting the boat Sir!””But this is not for the paint job. It’s for having repaired the hole in the boat.””Ah! But it was such a small service… certainly it’s not worth paying me such a high amount for something so insignificant.””My dear friend, you do not understand. Let me tell you what happened. When I asked you to paint the boat, I forgot to mention about the hole. When the boat dried, my kids took the boat and went on a fishing trip. They did not know that there was a hole. I was not at home at that time. When I returned and noticed they had taken the boat, I was desperate because I remembered that the boat had a hole.Imagine my relief and joy when I saw them returning from fishing. Then, I examined the boat and found that you had repaired the hole! You see, now, what you did? You saved the life of my children! I do not have enough money to pay your ‘small’ good deed.”So, no matter who, when or how. Just continue to help, sustain, wipe tears, listen attentively and carefully repair all the ‘leaks’ you find, because you never know when one is in need of us or when God holds a pleasant surprise for us to be helpful and important to someone.
You may have repaired numerous ‘boat holes’ along the way… of several people without realizing how many lives you’ve saved_.So Keep up the Good work Pray for others because when you consider others pain and sufferings and brought them in front of God ,God listens no matter how small it may seem to be .. I want to thank Everyone who Repaired my boat through the prayers and attracted me toward God’s promises, it made a big difference in my life.
