Modern Christian Classic “In Christ Alone” Always Moves Us to Worship

“In Christ Alone (My Hope is Found)” is probably one of the most covered, enduring songs of all time since it was introduced to the Christian music genre. We couldn’t count the number of artists who sang it, excluding the choirs, gatherings, and public shows where it was sung to lift the name of Jesus Christ.

Solemnly, with drums and electric guitar, with added noise, in piano or plain acapella, it doesn’t matter. Composers Stuart Townend and Keith Getty collaborated the piece with only one muse in mind – the life, death, resurrection of Jesus Christ and what He meant to the both of them. They were careful not to mess with the lyrics since this is about GOD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.

Stuart said the first words of the song should have been “My hope is found in Christ alone” but Keith said it would be stronger and more piercing to the soul if they start it with “In Christ Alone”. Like any collaborations, they argue. Stuart admitted getting irritated with the suggestion but on second thought, he agreed.

There you go. We are given a sample on how birthing a Christian music that will pass the test of time is done. It has to start basically with sincere love and reverence for the Lord Jesus Christ, knowing what He had gone through (Bible), and experiencing His presence daily.
