Actor Who Portrayed Jesus in “Passion of the Christ” Calls Christians: “Stop Being Afraid”

Jim Caviezel, the actor who portrayed Jesus Christ in the film Passion of the Christ recently shared a message for all Christians. According to the 49-year-old, the problem with Christianity nowadays is that Christians are too afraid to face the world’s persecution.

“To live is Christ. To die is gain. We all die, man. It’s how you live your life, and there are a lot of people out there right now that need our help,” Caviezel said, relating the message to what Paul wrote in Philippians 1:21. He is saying that as people who believe in God, the fear of death should slowly be flushed out of our system. Why? Because everyone dies. What matters is what you did while you were living.

He also cites the problem with culture today, which, he says, is afraid of death. He mentioned the issue surrounding evangelist Billy Graham’s death, wherein there are still people who do not believe he’s in heaven.

Caviezel has already cemented his name as one of the more versatile actors in the industry, and yet he attributes all of these acting chops to God. “My gift is from God,” he said. “It was a gift given to me. I didn’t give it to myself.”

The Bible is also clear in its stance when it comes to Christian living. We should not put our affections on things on earth, nor should we set our sights on temporary things. What matters are those that have eternal value, one of which is the soul of man?

The actor recently portrayed the Gospel writer Luke in a new Christian film, Paul, Apostle of Christ, about the life and story of the apostle Paul.
