Six-year-old Jayden, a first-grade student at Charles Elementary School in Richmond, Indiana, has captured the hearts of netizens around the world. He brought his football coach to tears after presenting him with a sweet gift and an emotional thank you note. The moment was captured in a video that has since gone viral.
According to Yahoo News, Coach Richard Nelloms received a mug from Jayden, which was printed with the words “A good coach can change the game. A great coach can change a life.” Jayden’s mother, Courtney Wigginton, recorded the exchange and could be heard telling Coach Richard that the young boy had also written a note for him.
“Dear Coach Richard, you have been the greatest coach of my life. I love you Richard,” Jayden read. As he proceeded to read the rest of the note, the first-grader started to cry. Overwhelmed with emotion, he continued to read, “You helped me love football again. Thank you for being my favorite coach. Love, Jayden.”

Coach Nelloms admitted that he barely held it together in front of the boy. However, upon rewatching the video, he said that he could not help but break down in tears. In a Facebook post, the coach took the opportunity to thank Jayden for allowing him to fulfill his own dream.
“This was something that I felt so lucky to have an opportunity to do. I was so nervous at first, some of the parents had to tell me to raise my voice so they could hear me lol I felt blessed with the chance to be myself & teach my players how to have fun no matter what. It’s a dream of mine to make an impact on as many souls as possible. Thank you Jayden for allowing me to fulfill a dream of mine!!!,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jayden’s mom was delighted by all the attention that herTikTok video received. She took to Facebook to thank everyone for the love and support that was extended to her son and his coach. Sadly, Wigginton shared that she also received a lot of negative and disrespectful comments. However, she remained strong and turned to God.
“It hurts seeing some of the disrespectful comments, especially regarding my child, but I know God will have our back thru this journey and at the end of the day, LOVE WILL WIN! The devil will always be at work, but my God will always turn out on top. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart,” she said.
