Something extraordinary happened to a Filipino boy that left him amazed at the creation of God. While he played outside happily, one of his flip-flops had fallen a ravine, and he couldn’t reach for it for he might fall down the dirty slope.
If given time, the boy might give it a try to reach out for his slippers, but someone got there first. It might sound surreal, but a duck retrieved the flip-flop of the young boy. Myla Aguila, a female villager who just happened to pass by the scene, recorded this unique occurrence.
Sitio Madaguldol, Brgy.

The video capture is fantastic because the duck has struggled to bring back the slippers of the boy. The duck bit the flip-flop for only a few seconds and tried to climb fast back to the boy but lost bite for several times, so the duck needs to go down the slope again to fetch it.
The event is heartwarming because a lot of people are watching the attempts of the duck in helping the boy. The cheering of the crowd is fun and touching. The documentation might be rare that an animal helps a human, but it happened a lot already. There are even documentations of animals of different species that supported one another.
Myla is amazed by what she saw. Aguila wrote about his experience on Facebook, and she said, “I was dumbfounded. The duck is kind. He helped, even though he doesn’t know the child.” It’s also a testament that we should help one another. We should assist those who need help even if they are strangers to us.
Myla also wrote, “There is a feeling like a person…I will feel mercy on them because of what I saw.”
