Joanna and Chip Gaines have graced our home televisions with their well-known series, Fixer Upper, where they transform seemingly hopeless houses into something worth living at. However, fans were in for a sad news when the couple revealed in September 2017 that the well-loved series is now coming to an end.
Following the announcement of the end of Fixer Upper, it was revealed that the couple was expecting their 5th child. Naturally, people assumed that the conclusion of the series was due to Joanna’s pregnancy but it was revealed by the couple through an interview that it was purely a case of God’s perfect timing.

How God Works In His Perfect Time
Chip shared that the decision was made not after they had known about the pregnancy but even before it. Chip said that the realization came when he received a tweet of a customer saying that the wreath he ordered was already 3 weeks late. It was then that he had contemplated that it was now hard to juggle their time between Fixer Upper, business, and family. They had no choice but to give up something in order to compensate for the time being demanded of them.
“We had a lot on our plates, and at some point, you have to call those shots when you feel like you need a break,” Joanna said.

Having family as their first priority, the couple knew it was time to give up one of the other things that keeps them busy.keeps them busy.
“It was really easy for us to feel like we could do it all when the show and the business were in the early stages,” Chip said. “But the bigger things got – and they got big fast – the less energy we had to devote to all three. So much time was being allocated to filming that the details of the business were slipping.”
A few weeks after the announcement about the show coming an end, the couple received a great news.coming an end, the couple received a great news.
“I had been feeling a little emotional and crazy and thought, ‘Wow, this isn’t me,’ ” Joanna recalled. “Then all of a sudden I realized, ‘Hey, I remember this.’ When I saw the results of the test, my jaw dropped. Chip was in the driveway about to leave when I called him back and said, ‘We’re pregnant!’ He was so excited. We’re both just so excited.”
The New Addition to the Family
Now, the Gaines family has already welcomed the youngest of the family, Crew Gaines, and they have never been more happy. The realization came then after that the need to slow down was actually God’s voice telling the couple to give up something, because something greater, a wonderful gift, was coming their way.
