Tim Tebow is a Christian athlete, and he’ll celebrate his upcoming 32nd birthday in an inspirational way. He wants to raise funds for kids in the Philippines who are in need of life-saving surgeries.

We did it! So thankful for the best 32nd birthday gift I could have asked for! #helpingothers

Tim suffered a hand injury, which ended his professional baseball season in New York Mets, but he’s not thinking about himself. All he wanted is to raise $150,000 to help 150 Filipino children.

Tim grew up in the Philippines when his parents served as missionaries in the country. He has seen and been with people who are below poverty level. He knows how it feels to be sick and without money.

Tim said in a video interview: “They wouldn’t be loved, and they wouldn’t be cared for, but if there’s any way that I would like to celebrate it’s helping kids in their darkest hour of need. Because that’s a true celebration”.

The Christian athlete said he felt his calling to help those who can’t help themselves when he first visited the Philippines. Tim said, “I have always had a great love and passion for the Filipino people.”

Tim was only 15 years old when he started the Tim Tebow Foundation. He opened a pediatric hospital in Davao City, Mindanao, an island in the Philippines. The hospital specializes pediatric orthopedic surgeries that help kids who have spinal deformities and clubfoot. Besides the physical treatment, the hospital provides spiritual healing too so Filipino children can get all the help they need.

Cure International’s executive director Michael Hulland said the fundraiser is an “investment in God’s Kingdom” because it serves children daily.

Those who want to give Tim Tebow a birthday blast can help his fundraiser by going to his foundation or Facebook page. Tim’s act is inspiring not just to the Christian community. It inspires people to care more about one another.
