So How Should We Live Our Life?
What if we could see others through God’s eyes? Would we react differently? Would we be kinder? Would we be more understanding? Would we show compassion, love and caring?
The Bible is a guidebook that teaches us that we should live our lives as Jesus did … doing what the Father willed. That is how we should live our lives, and how we should react, and respond to others. So often we assume and make judgments, not knowing the truth. We don’t see the whole picture. We err in making hasty judgments. Instead, we should let God’s Holy Spirit dwell within us so that His discernment, love and kindness shines through in all our interactions.
Luke 6:31 reminds us “as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.” And Colossians 3:12-14 reminds us to “put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” Then “as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them” Luke 6:31.
The Spirit of the Lord will rest upon him–the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord–and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears. Isaiah 11:2-3
