No one in this world will love you more than your parents. Their love is truly unconditional and they are willing to do whatever it takes for the safety of their children and Mike Perdue proved that.
Mike Perdue was in an airplane going to Michigan’s Beaver Island together with his 11-year-old daughter, Laney Perdue when they met an accident. The plane they were on crashed while landing at the airport. It instantly cost him his life but it spared his daughters.
According to Laney, she doesn’t remember much but what she did remember is her father squeezing her so hard. She cradled her to safety and it was successful because although Laney is the sole survivor of the plane crash.
“It was a miracle and a tragedy, all in one day,” Mike’s widow, Christie, says. “It’s hard to balance all those emotions.”
Although Laney suffered multiple broken bones and injuries, it is understandable that nothing is more painful than the fact that her dad is no longer with them. Mike is truly a hero.
“In my heart of hearts, I know that he truly did save her, and he protected her,” Christie Perdue said.
A fundraising page was created for him and his family and it already exceeded $150,000 to help the family with financial issues as they grieve the loss of Mike Perdue.
“He was just an amazing human being and we’ll spend the rest of our life just honoring his memory,” Christie said.
