College Professor Carried Her Student’s Baby During Three-Hour Lecture

A teacher in Georgia Gwinnett College is gaining praises for her selfless act of tending to one of her student’s baby while in class. The professor helped her student concentrate on her lecture while she carried and fed the child herself.

A photo of the heartwarming act has since gone viral online after the teacher’s daughter shared it on Twitter. Dr. Ramata Sissoko Cissé is a mother herself so she knows how the baby’s guardian must have felt to bring her child to school.

According to Dr. Cissé’s daughter Anna, one of the student’s could not find a babysitter for her baby and was left with no choice but to bring her child to class. The anatomy professor went above and beyond her duty to take care of the baby.

As seen in the photo, Dr. Cissé has the baby wrapped snuggly on her back with a cloth while she carried on with her lecture. It was a three-hour lecture yet she continued with teaching as if the child was not there. It was no bother for her and she even fed the baby. Anna said this is nothing new for her mother as she is naturally a caring person.

my mom is my role model. her student couldn’t find a babysitter today & being the true African mother that she is, taught a THREE hour class with the baby on her back & fed him. I’m so blessed to be raised by a woman who loves the world as much as her own children.

“She cares about a stranger on the street in the same way that she cares about her dearest friend. Her love doesn’t discriminate, and if you have ever interacted with her, you’ll know that,” Anna told Fox29.

Soon after Anna’s photo went viral, several of Dr. Cissé’s students vouched for her kindness. They say that she is the best teacher they’ve ever had. Ann couldn’t be more happy and proud to have been raised by a caring, understanding, and loving mother whom she calls her “role model.”

@AnnaKhadejah @genlaflare @GeorgiaGwinnett No, lie your mom is my Anatomy professor and this just happened on Thursday in our class. She’s probably one of the best professors I’ve had! Dr. Cisse is the Goat

@teddyv242 @TaviaTierin @GeorgiaGwinnett My mother loves children and offered to hold the child during class, he was asleep for a good majority of the course so it wasn’t bothersome 🙂

Meanwhile, Dr. Cissé’s is perplexed at all the media attention since she feels that her story is nothing special.

“She feels as if that is the natural reaction that anyone would have when put in that situation.” Anna said, “And I think her reaction speaks to her character more authentically than anything I could describe,” Anna said.

For Dr. Cissé, her small act of kindness made a huge difference to the baby’s mother on that day. She was able to take down notes and concentrate on the lecture. The professor allowed her to be a student on that day.
