Texas Governor Praises God In Response To ‘God Put You In A Wheelchair’ Tweet

Texas Governor Greg Abbot would not let a tweet blaming God for his paralysis break his faith. He gave a stunning response, one which showed how his steadfast faith in Him despite his condition.

Gov. Abbot has been in a wheelchair for over a decade after a freak accident left him paralyzed from the waist down. An Oak tree fell on him during a jog and he has since been unable to use his legs. But this did not stop him from living a normal life and he even ran for politics in 2014. Since he has been in office, his political opponents have always mocked his disability but he never faltered or let the criticisms put him down.

Happy Thanksgiving. Today we continue our tradition of delivering Meals on Wheels to the home bound on Thanksgiving. We deliver more than a meal. We also deliver compassion & conversation. We thank God for the blessing of living in the greatest state & country in the world. https://t.co/kp9eSDJ0qA

Instead, he let his faith in God guide him through his endeavors because he knows that with God everything is possible. So when a tweet put the blame on God for his disability, Gov. Abbot defended God and praised Him.

“God didn’t cause the accident that left me paralyzed, but He did help me persevere over that enormous challenge,” he replied to the tweet, adding “I’m a testament that the glory of God is revealed by a young man’s back being broken in half and still rising up to be Governor of Texas. With God all is possible.”

He also responded to another person who said he would commit suicide if he ever ends up bound to a wheelchair. Gov. Abbot shared that he also thought about it but realized that he did more things in his life after the accident than before.

“That’s what I thought before I ended up in a wheelchair. I’ve done more AFTER the accident that left me paralyzed than before that accident. With God all things are possible,” he wrote.
