Such Amazing NFL Superstars Loving Football and More Definitely Love Jesus!

NFL players do all they can to win the game. They surely work hard day in and day out, week in and week out, to be on top of their game. But whether champions or not, these NFL superstars brings all the glory back to Jesus. They surely love Jesus and football!

Daniel Colt McCoy, Washington Redskins quarterback always believe that success is not based on the things that he does or on how the world defines success. He always believes that “…for me I am successful in life because I have Jesus living inside me.” In addition, McCoy even said that “I feel like God has raised me, He’s made me the man that I am, He’s put me where he wants me and that’s at the University of Texas playing quarterback.”

Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders quarterback, wrote on his website, derekcarrqb.com, “Being a quarterback is what I do, but it does not define who I am…At any moment, any second, my football career could be taken away, but my faith and relationship with God will never be taken from me.” In this particular video, Derek Carr shared his testimony.

Marcus Johnson, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver, a former member of Philadelphia Eagles, declared his faith in a very public way.  He was baptized just before the Eagles vs Panthers kickoff. He made the decision to live a life for Jesus and he publicly declared it through water baptism.

Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, is very vocal of what he believes in.  He believes in this motto “Audience of One” and when asked about it during an interview, Wentz said that “When I’m playing in Philadelphia in front of seventy thousand fans, they’re screaming, going crazy, but when I can run out there and realize that I’m playing this game for the Lord and I’m really just setting my mind on things above, it changes my perspective. It allows me to play freely. It allows me to be bold, to not have any fear, just get rid of all the nerves, just knowing that the Lord is going to use it for his good…”And when asked how he feels about being an NFL quarterback, Wentz boldly says “My favorite part about being a professional quarterback… seeing people come to know the Lord because of the platform that He’s given me…Being able to make a difference off the field is definitely the most rewarding part of playing as a professional quarterback.”

Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was the Super Bowl LII MVP. During the trophy presentation and MVP ceremony, Foles said “Unbelievable. All glory to God,” Despite being the MVP, he was very open with the idea of becoming a pastor to high school students after his football career. He said during one of his interview “I took a leap of faith last year and signed up to take classes at seminary. I wanted to continue to learn and challenge my faith. It’s a challenge because you are writing papers that are biblically correct. You want to impact people’s hearts.”

Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles tight end, said in this particular video that “Being a Christian athlete, I won’t trade it for the world, obviously, it saved my life….my priority is to glorify God each and every day…” He boldly declares how the gospel changed him and encourages people to learn about Jesus. Watch in this video as he expresses how thankful he is for his team who lead him to Christ:

During  2018 NFL Championship, Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl. They were surely in the spotlight but these Eagles put Jesus Christ in the spotlight. These NFL superstars always believe that all the glory belongs to Jesus.

Whether champions or not, these players boldly declare their faith because they personally experienced the love of Jesus.
