‘There’s Power In Your Weakness’: Justin Bieber Leads Church Worship, Talks About Joy In Trials

Justin Bieber has never been shy to talk about his Christian faith to the public. He talks about it in interviews and shares videos of him listening to worship songs. This time though, he takes the brave step and leads a worship service.

The Canadian singing sensation led a worship band during Wednesday’s service at Churchhome in Beverly Hills, California. He praised the Lord with an emotional performance of “Never Would’ve Made It” by gospel singer and songwriter Marvin Sapp. He also sang “To Worship You I Live” by Israel Houghton.

He shared videos from the service on his Instagram and captioned it “this is a redemption story.” On his post, he shared that he is in a difficult time but puts his faith entirely on God that He will help him through.

“God is pulling me through a hard season. Having trust in Jesus at your worst times is the absolute hardest. But he is faithful to complete what he started,” Bieber wrote.

The artist also thanked his wife Hailey for being “a huge support” in his life and shared how grateful he is for all the blessings God has given him. Despite the trials, Bieber says he counts on the joys and reminds his fans to count their blessings and not their sorrows and to persevere through all the pain and suffering.

“It says in the bible count it ALL JOY when you face trials of various kinds. Sounds insane considering when u face trials u feel terrible. But if we are grateful and worship god for what we do have in that season there is so much power in that…” Bieber added.

In a video shared by TMZ, the 25-year old admitted that he was hesitant at first to lead the band because he didn’t want people to get the wrong idea about his performance. He didn’t want them to think that it’s a show.

However, Churchome Pastor Judah Smith appreciated Bieber’s decision to use his talent in worshiping God. It reportedly took him years to finally decide to lead a worship band, even though he said it was nerve-wracking than performing in one of his concerts.

Bieber said his message at church was about the power in weakness. When you feel weak and you fight through that weakness, and you “get to the other side and it gets better,” for him that’s power.
