Navy Master Chief Garth Sinclair, his wife Sandy and their children were among those greatly affected by Hurricane Michael when it wreaked havoc on Florida’s gulf coast. After nearly a year, the family still struggled to cope with their loses— their house became unlivable and Garth’s employment closed after the storm.
The family went without a two-months worth of pay and their home insurance did not cover all their losses. The Sinclairs were at a loss on what to do and they didn’t get any answers either from those they’ve asked for help.
However, despite the challenges they remained steadfast in their faith that God will not abandon them. It was their faith that allowed them to look at each day positively knowing in their heart that God will lift them out of their burden.
“I couldn’t even get out of bed in the morning without the hope that my faith brings. God’s got us. He’s going to take care of us. We don’t know what it’s going to look like but god’s not going to let us fall,” Garth told the CBN.
Their prayers were eventually answered when Baypoint Church in Panama City heard about their story. Pastor Ben Lilies invited the Sinclairs to give them the good news that proved to be “a huge burden lifted.”
“The first thing I want to tell you is everything out-of-pocket expenses that the insurance didn’t cover, we are going to be covering for you,” Pastor Lilies told the couple.
If that wasn’t enough, he said that the church, with the help of CBN, will be covering the two-months worth of paycheck that Garth didn’t receive.
“We are going to help you recover. To kind of give a chance to breathe. We want to provide you guys some margin in life,” Pastor Lilies continued.
Garth and Sandy couldn’t believe the overwhelming blessings they received. They are so grateful to God that He answered their call for help.
“It’s just overwhelming. We’re just kind of struggle through this whole situation like everybody else. And trying not to be a burden to anybody else either in our struggle. It’s going to change our outlook, it’s going to change our outlook. It’s going to help our family a lot,” Garth replied.
Garth concluded that God answered all the uncertainties and the huge blessing will definitely help them move forward. He called God’s grace as the “light at the end of the tunnel.”
