Candace Cameron Bure ‘Prays’ New Movie Will Help People ‘Turn to Jesus’ amid ‘Traditional Marriage’ Controversy

Candace Cameron Bure is promoting the “Jesus Revolution” movie and hopes that it will encourage people to develop a deeper relationship with God. The film was released in theaters on February 24.

In the movie “Jesus Revolution,” the story of a young Greg Laurie is depicted as he searches for fulfillment before finding his way to God. The film also features Jonathan Roumie as Lonnie Frisbee, a street preacher, and Kelsey Grammer as Pastor Chuck Smith, who helps bring about a revival in the church.

Bure took to her Instagram account to share the trailer for the faith movie and captioned her post with a prayer that the movie will be used to spread the gospel and encourage people to turn to Jesus.

She recently faced backlash for her comments regarding same-sex couples in holiday movies. Bure clarified that her network’s programming will prioritize traditional marriage, but she also stated that she loves and respects all people and would never intentionally offend anyone.

Bure has previously discussed the challenges of adhering to her Christian beliefs in the entertainment industry, especially in a compassionate way. “It’s hard, no matter what. Especially when you are a compassionate person and you have a heart for people,” she said during a podcast interview.

“But it’s important that we speak truth in love, ’cause, listen, nobody’s gonna change, nobody’s going to listen to you when it comes out angry, when it comes out in a harsh way, but it’s important that we don’t back down.”
