Dad Killed At Highland Park Parade Used His Body As A Shield To Protect His 2-Year-Old Son

A toddler is now an orphan following the mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois. Two-year-old Aiden McCarthy was attending the local Fourth of July parade with his mom Irina McCarthy and dad Kevin McCarthy when bullets started to fly. Witnesses say Kevin McCarthy shielded his son with his own body. The 2-year-old survived and was taken in by Dana and Greg Ring. After posting on social media, a neighbor of the McCarthy’s recognized Aiden and reunited him with his grandparents.
