Station Captain prays over his officers as they stood in solidarity and humbly asked for God’s protection before being sent on their nightly rounds. All policemen know that anything can happen outside the police station. They have to make split-second decisions that may result in the death of someone or theirs. Numerous officers still live out the motto – To Protect and To Serve. These men in uniform believe that as they protect people, it is The Lord Almighty who also preserves them from death.
Being a law enforcement officer is a God-given calling. It is a job and a vocation at the same time. It takes courage, compassion and the ability to sense correctly what is going on in order to do the right action. Enforcers are very smart and highly intuitive. Thus, for them to acknowledge that it is God who can make them wise at all times is bravery to the highest level. We could see that more and more people in uniform are claiming the promise of God that “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.
