Proud Auntie Is deeply Moved after Witnessing Newphew’s Act of Kindness toward Elderly Stranger

A Griffin woman said her 17-year-old nephew’s random act of kindness brought tears to her eyes and she’s proud to be his aunt.

Connie Belle Jenkins Sweet said she was picking up cleaning supplies at Dollar General on Sunday with her nephew, Senquavious Driver, when the teen spotted an elderly woman in need of assistance.

“We were about to pull off and leave when she was trying to get out of her car, but she was struggling to get on the sidewalk,” Sweet said. “She barely could walk.”

Sweet told FOX 5 Digital Producer Katie Muse the woman almost fell and that’s when Driver told his aunt he thought she needed some help, so he jumped out of the car.

“He helped her in the store and shopped with her and he walked her back out to her car,” Sweet said. “She was only going in for a soda, but she barely could even get in the store.”

The 81-year-old woman told the Griffin High School senior she had recently fallen, injuring her back and face.

“I was in tears taking pictures because he didn’t hesitate to help her, and that made my heart happy,” Sweet told us. “I’m so proud of him because I know and love the lady that raised him, my sissy.”

Sweet said the elderly stranger was very appreciative and repeatedly thanked the young man.

“I have an awesome nephew.” Sweet said on Facebook. “I pray to God he continues to do great things in his life.”
