You Raise Me Up as you’ve never heard it before, performed by 4 year old Irish rising star, Emma Sophia! There is a real sense of optimism in Ireland at the moment, so You Raise Me Up seemed like the perfect song to symbolise this sense of hope – a lifting of spirits in anticipation of the future.
Children see magic because they look for it. Similarly, hope can always be found, even if it seems lost. This song is dedicated to everyone who believes in hope, and to those who are searching for it. Emma Sophia’s angelic voice, coupled with stunning Irish scenery creates an entrancing sensory experience, taking us out of ourselves and raising us up to new emotional stratospheres where hope springs eternal.
The Celtic inspired music video was filmed in areas of incredible beauty in West Cork. It begins at the Drombeg Stone Circle, which dates back 3,000 years to the Bronze Age. Used for rituals and ceremonies, Emma Sophia, dressed like a Bandraoi (female druid), can be seen singing at the Druid’s Altar, and also in the centre of the stone circle. The location shifts to a stunning cliff-top setting with castle ruins near Mizen Head, Ireland’s most Southerly point. Emma Sophia rises up both physically and vocally, and the song ends with her singing at the highest point looking down over the peninsula as the drone shoots out to display it’s magnificent, jaw-dropping beauty.
