Man Builds Special Room for 88-Year-Old Grandmother to Live With Him in Her Last Years

A grandparents’ love is exceptional, they give unconditional love to their family, especially to their grandchildren, and one TikToker from Florida can attest to that.

Matthew Stewart and his Granma Bobbe, or GB as he called her, shared a loving bond and is shown on their TikTok account. Matthew loved his grandma so much that he decided to give her a little surprise.

GB was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Scared of her safety, Matthew built a special room for her in his home to move into. It is also his way of thanking his grandmother for everything she did for him over the years.

The surprise was recorded and posted on Instagram in October 2020 garnered many positive reactions from people commending Matthew for being such a wonderful grandson.

As shown in the video, Matthew drives his grandmother to the site where their new house is being built and spills the news that GB will be moving in with him and his wife and that she will have her room, sitting room, and bathroom.

The lovely grandmother became emotional and said she was happy to know that someone wanted her. It made Matthew’s heart break a little, but he is pleased to see that he made her grandma happy.

Before Matthew’s big news, he treated the 88-year-old grandma to a day at the salon she frequently visits. Matthew said that GB started getting depressed because she couldn’t go to the salon due to Covid restrictions.

“She [was] getting down, getting a little depressed because she didn’t have her usual salon day. So I figured I would try it out and see if I could maybe help her out a little bit and make her day,” Stewart told Fox News.

Matthew has no knowledge when it comes to hair care, but he did his best to give his grandma the treatment she deserves.

He washed his grandmother’s hair, blow-dry, and even styled it while she sips on a glass of champagne. Bobbe praised her grandson and said he did “a great job.”

After a wash, blow-dry, styling, and even a little champagne, Grandma Bobbe said her grandson did “a great job.” Their cute bonding session was shared on social media and was viewed by more than 1.3 million people.

Matthew’s last video on his Instagram account was when he and his wife announced their pregnancy to GB. As expected, GB was full of emotions. The news left her speechless, and she started crying. When she eventually dared to speak again, she said she was ready to change diapers.

Unfortunately, shortly after the news was told, GB had a fall and needed to go to rehab to recover. Matthew hoped that the pregnancy news would help GB push herself to recover, but she died by the end of January.

Matthew shared some of GB’s most beautiful moments in a video on Instagram to celebrate what should have been his grandmother’s 89th birthday on February 13, 2022.
