Marie Osmond Says Her Successful Career is All God’s Plan

Marie Osmond credits all her success and good health to God. The singer marveled at His grace and generosity, for supplying her with over a decade’s worth of blessings.

The “Paper Roses” singer never imagined that she would still be performing at her age now at 59. She had intended to stay in the entertainment industry only until in her twenties. But God had other plans. He put challenges her way that would not only strengthen her faith in Him but also bring about abundant blessings.

“There were a lot of things at play. I was planning on being retired in my 20s and being married and having a family. But we lost everything financially. So it seems like God never wanted me to stop. And then work became my safe place,” Osmond said in an interview on “Popcorn with Peter Travers.”

An American singer, actress, author, philanthropist, and talk show host, Osmond seems to have it all under control. But she revealed that her success also brought troubles. Being under the spotlight and having to work most of her childhood years was difficult at times.

“You know, when I was told — can I go out and play? No, I was working. I was recording,” Osmond told Larry King in a previous interview.

However, Osmond, who has been vocal about her faith, said that she never once forgot to thank God for everything that he has done for her and her family. She feels so blessed to still be able to perform.

“Honestly, I just feel like it’s God being good. Because I know so many talented people and I’ve just been blessed. I really feel like I’m a very blessed person,” she said.

Osmond said that she has “never taken a year off.” But she will soon be able to free up some of her schedule after her Las Vegas residency with her brother Donny ends in November. Despite having to work her entire life, she expressed her gratitude to God for being good. Osmond said that she feels very blessed.
