Pastor John Hagee Says ‘Without Self-Control You Will Self-Destruct’

Pastor John Charles Hagee reminds us not to forego self-control in anything we do. Whether in our wealth, career, family life and in the decisions we make in our lives. He says self-control is important because without it we could face self-destruction.

No matter your richness, without self-control you might end up being poor because there are a lot of factors that can trigger losing self-control. These include drugs, alcohol, which could, in turn, lead to divorce and eventually poverty. Being powerful could end up with you in the ditch if you have no self-control.

“Doing what you ought to do and not what you want to do. We have lived in a generation that has been made to believe that you have the right to do what you want to do. I’m telling you that is absolutely wrong. You have the right to do what you out to do. That’s self-control do you have it?” Pastor Hagee said in the video below.

Pastor Hagee says the battle for self-control lies within yourself. If you cannot control your actions and behavior, then you’re bound for destruction.

“The war of the soul is a civil war. You may be successful in making money but if you cannot control yourself then you’re going to destroy yourself…The Bible says the heart is deceitful above all things who can know it.”

Hagee, the author of several Christian and inspiration books including “Earth’s Last Empire: The Final Game of Thrones,” says that in our wrongdoings there is no one else to blame but ourselves. We must not point fingers at our parents, our teachers, or anyone else, because it is we who make the decisions and do the things that are contrary to what the Bible says. It’s we who lost self-control so we must face the consequences. He reminds us not to lose self-control if we don’t want to lose those important to us: our family, our life, and most of all, our relationship with God.
