‘The Sound of Silence’ was originally sung by the American music duo Simon & Garfunkel.  This song was considered as a classic folk-rock song and has gained so much popularity from its remix release last September 1965. One of the most popular cover versions of ‘The Sound of Silence’ was released by American heavy metal band Disturbed on December 7, 2015, which hit number one on the Billboard Hard Rock Digital Songs and Mainstream Rock charts.

Another cover of this song that gained so much attention in social media is Todd Hoffman’s. It already reached more than 8 million views on YouTube. Todd Hoffman was better known for his Discovery Channel show ‘Gold Rush’, however, during the last episode of Season 8, Hoffman announced that he will not be returning in the next season to pursue a career in singing. Now talking about leaving the gold behind to pursue his dreams!

Surely, leaving everything behind to pursue your dreams is one of the hardest decisions one could ever make. Stepping out of your comfort zone requires so much faith. But stepping out to the unknown is not new for Todd since he was the one who originally came up with the idea to go mine in Alaska which started the hit Discovery Channel show. Surely, Todd Hoffman is one brave and faithful soul!
