Electrician Starts Mission to Fix Elderly Woman’s Home after Seeing Its Dismal Condition

John Kinney of Kinney Electric found that Gloria Scott, a client from Woburn, Massachusetts, needs more than fixing her ceiling lights. Her house needs several home repairs, but she cannot afford the money to do it.

“No lights, no running water…it stuck with me over the weekend, and I said I gotta go back there,” Kinney declared during an interview.

Gloria did not ask Kinney to do other things aside from fixing her light fixture. However, the electrician felt that he needed to do more after witnessing that his client’s house was terrible.

He wanted to do so much more and came up with an idea to post his desire to help Gloria on social media. He named the page, ‘Nice old lady needs help.’ He intended to attract other tradespeople, hoping people from his industry would share his goals to help others in nee,” Gloria shared.

The page received a positive response, and many users reached out to him to support his cause.

At first, Kinney stated that his goal was to help Gloria in small ways. However, more tradesmen spoke to him on social media, and finally, he had the funds and the labor force to make things happen. ‘Well, yea now it looks like we are [rebuilding Gloria’s whole house],” he said during an interview.

Work crews volunteered to help John in fixing Gloria’s house. They did not ask for anything in return but helped update Gloria’s house. After some time, the crew corrected and updated the matronly woman’s electricity and plumbing system, walls, ceilings, and windows after some time.

“Look at these people…I mean, I can’t even comprehend the gratitude I have,” Gloria said.

Kinney’s page got more famous and had extended its reach to other residents in Woburn. As a result, Many people offered some small help for the renovation project.

“There’s no words for it you know?” John Kinney shared.

More people approached Kinney and supported his cause. Later on, the electrician took his effort to the next level and started a group called ‘Gloria’s Gladiators.’

With the creation of this group, Kinney hopes to inspire others and practice kindness regularly to Gloria and other homeowners in need.

Gloria did not intend to ask for Kinney’s extra help. However, her call had touched the hearts of Kinney and his other colleagues. These men are angels in disguise who made Gloria happy and allowed her to enjoy her place again!
