“I don’t have the words yet … I will … but for now … In the name of Jesus there is healing,” country singer and actress Jana Kramer said after going public about her faith in God. She said this after being baptized in her church. She said that she decided to follow Jesus because he has always been there for her even during times she wanted nothing from him.
“This is my battle cry. This is the day I stopped walking alone. The beauty is … I was never alone. He was always walking with me. I just didn’t think I deserved that. If I’m honest, I didn’t know how to trust it or if I could trust it at all,” Kramer said.
She said that she had difficulty understanding and accepting God as her Father because of what happened in her past. She thought that God would not stay and that He would hurt her which is why she did not think much of Him for many years.
However, in the past year, Kramer began to realize that in her brokenness, God was there for her and He never left her. “God was just waiting for me to come to him. And I have … and today I made my faith public, and it feels really good to know no matter what happens next on this journey of life, HE is next to me walking with me,” she said.
In her post, she encouraged anyone reading her message to let God into their lives because He is walking with them through the good and the bad times. “I hope this encourages someone to take that next step because you aren’t alone … In the name of Jesus there is healing,” she added.
The post showed her sitting in the baptismal pool. In her testimony, she said that she has now stopped walking alone. She said, “The beauty is…I was never alone. He was always walking with me…I just didn’t think I deserved that. If I’m honest, I didn’t know how to trust it or if I could trust it at all.”
She posted Scripture from Lamentations 3:22-33 which was written, “”The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
Other celebrities celebrated with her. Actress Candace Cameron Bure said, “Praise the Lord! And all the angels sang in Heaven and rejoiced! Praise His holy name!! A step in faith reaps eternal reward.”
She ended her post with an encouraging note, “And today, I made my faith public and it feels really good to know, no matter what happens next on this journey of life, HE is next to me walking with me.”
God declares that He is with us no matter what happens. And even though we are not faithful, He is faithful because He cannot deny Himself. There are many great things in store for those who will trust God with their life both here in this life and to eternity.
