Muslim Arrested for “Love Jihad”? India’s Controversial New Anti-Conversion Law

A Muslim student has been arrested for “love jihad” in India’s Uttar Pradesh state, just days after the law was enacted. Four other states (Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, and Assam) are to enact similar laws. The laws are backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), let by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Critics of the laws insist that they are based on Islamophobia and anti-Muslim sentiment, and that they will hinder inter-religious marriages. David Wood discusses the issue.
