Policeman Gives Aid and Bible – Receives Voice Mail About Being Catalyst for Change to A Homeless Addict!

‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’. Our story begins, one stormy night when police officer Holman spotted a homeless man while on patrol. He stopped the patrol car and talked to the homeless man. Mr. Morris, the homeless man, said that he needed some help because his tent in the woods got carried away in the flood and he is freezing. So, officer Holman decided to help him get into a shelter and also to give him a meal. However, because of the storm all shelters were full. The two men got talking as they kept on driving around the neighborhood. Mr. Morris said that he tried to get a bible from one of the churches but they couldn’t give him any. Officer Holman felt that he should give him one but he couldn’t find any spare bible so he gave him his personal bible instead. 6 months later, officer Holman got a voicemail from Mr. Morris thanking him for what he has done. He said that, because he took the time to talk to him and give him his Bible that action inspired Mr. Morris to check into a mental health program and clean up his life. This change of attitude also led him to reconciling with his siblings. This goes to show the power of love in action. Kindness creates a ripple that reaches far and wide.

Officer Holman’s concern served as a catalyst of change for this homeless man. One selfless act of goodwill led a homeless man to turn around a miserable life into a life of peace. The impact of Officer Holman was not just to Mr. Morris but to his relatives as well. One of the siblings of Mr. Morris took him in and cared for him until he died in March 18, 2015, but his death was a victorious one for he died a changed and renewed man.

The truth of God’s word written in the Bible led and guided Mr. Morris to a better shelter here on earth as well as a glorious shelter in heaven. On that stormy night, when Mr. Morris accepted the fact that he needed the help of God by asking for a Bible to read, God immediately reached down from heaven and put him on the right path that would give him a home in heaven eternally.
