“For it is you who light my lamp; the LORD my God lightens my darkness.”–Psalms 18:28
We all have once lived in darkness, walking on dry land until our bones run dry. We are all thirsty souls having this unquenchable desire to be loved and accepted. We are living in the slavery of darkness and we are all dead to sin.
But in that darkness, a light shine. This is the light that calls us out of the pitch dark place that we are into, the light that has brought the dry bones back to life. This is the light from our Savior.
A life of sin is a life of slavery. That is our condition if not because of Jesus dying on the cross for us. Jesus did not just light the lamp, but He himself is our light.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?—Psalm 27:1
Resurrection from death to life—this is the message that we exemplify the moment that we decided to follow Jesus through baptism and this is also the message this song communicates. Christ’ resurrection also resurrected us and enabled us to live a life of freedom. We are now able to live a new life with everything surrendered to Him because first and foremost He gave everything for our salvation.
Resurrection day is here
Bells are ringin’ loud and clear
Caterpillar to a butterfly
Risen to another life
Risen to another life
In this song, ‘Amen’, Christian duo KING & COUNTRY, really did an amazing job in putting together the message of resurrection with this cool beat, not to mention the incredible sound of their vocals. Listen to this song and be reminded of the freedom that Jesus won for us on the cross. Let us all shout an ‘Amen’ for that!
