An 11-Year-Old Child Gets a Free Guitar from Green Day while The Band Jams with Him onstage

Attendees of Green Day concerts often leave with enduring memories, but for 11-year-old Juul, the impact was transformative. At Green Day’s performance at the Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong spontaneously invited Juul on stage for an impromptu jam session. To Juul’s amazement, he departed the stage with Armstrong’s guitar as an unexpected gift.

Despite the daunting prospect of performing before a sizable audience, Juul exhibited remarkable composure and enthusiasm. He seamlessly joined the band, radiating joy and even shedding tears of happiness. Armstrong’s generous act of gifting him the guitar left Juul overjoyed, leaping with excitement and struggling to find words during a post-performance interview.

Green Day is renowned for their spontaneous interactions with fans during concerts. In a similar vein to Juul’s experience, the band previously welcomed Thomas Bulvan, a teenage fan, on stage at a Chicago show.

Having caught Armstrong’s attention from the front row, Juul was asked if he knew three chords. Upon confirmation, he was summoned onstage and handed a guitar. Juul’s brief yet electrifying jam session with the band showcased his impressive rock and roll stage presence.
