My name is Dante Lee Grady and I’ve decided to start a YouTube Channel. Through my videos, I want to share what God has done and is continuing to do in my life.
I was born in Pittsburgh but moved to Florida when I was 5 years old. My family was very religious and as a child, I was basically forced to go church-hopping with my parents. Eventually, I made the most out of it by seeing church as a way to hang out with my friends and to meet girls.
Our family eventually moved back to Pittsburgh after about 15-16 years. At this point, my parents were constantly fighting, and it gave me and my sister a lot of anxiety. They eventually divorced and my mom moved on with a new man.
My sister really struggled with the situation and became very depressed. She tried to kill herself a few times and I felt like the world was caving in on me. At that point, I turned to drugs. I became dependent on weed and acid. I used the drugs to fill the emptiness that I was feeling. It was also a way for me to escape everything. I also ended up being addicted to pornography.
The depression and the drugs eventually pushed me to drop out of high school. Two years later, my dad, who had not really been around, invited me to go to church. Interestingly, a pastor named Lee Grady was giving the sermon. What were the chances that a guy who shared my name would change my life?
He started speaking about pornography of all things. It was like God dropped a mirror and just reviewed my whole life to me. I never felt the love of God until that moment. The feeling I felt in that moment was indescribable. I was filled with the Holy Spirit.
The pastor approached me and said that I came in so dark but by the end of the sermon, he said that he could see the light of God in me. I came home that day and lost the desire to do drugs and watch pornography.
The pastor, who had the same name, has become my mentor and has helped me transform my life. I encourage all of you to find a mentor. If you have any questions about how I transformed my life, you can reach out to me in the comments and I will do my best to help you the way my pastor did for me.
