Father Is Overjoyed as Grocery Supermarket Manager Allows Son with Down Syndrome to Scan Groceries

The father and son, who are regulars in the Great Horton Road store, were shopping on Saturday when staff saw Jay was keen to put the shopping through himself.

David said: “I was trying to get him out from behind the till, but Jay decided he wanted to work at Tesco that day. I was having real difficulty but amazingly the manager, James, came over and opened the till for him.”
