If you see a homeless stranger in need, what will you do? For most of us, we may simply just ignore him. Some may even feel indifferent and judge him for his appearance and situation. On the bright side, there are people like these two LA County Sheriffs.
Deputies Formica and Mee went out of their way to help a homeless man. A woman witnessed and was moved by the act! True enough, these sheriffs embodied the true Christian value of loving our neighbors as to how Christ loved us.
This is a wonderful reminder of how we must live as followers of Christ. We are called to love one another and be in service for God’s glory. According to the Bible verse, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ (Matthew 25: 45). Every good deed we do to our neighbors is the same goodness we do for Christ. Our compassionate actions and words can be someone’s answered prayer or blessings. God can send us anytime as His instruments for others, we only have to obey and be selfless.
God’s love is magnified in our obedience and more people will be blessed if we listen to Him. Always be ready to love our neighbors and bring back everything to God’s glory.
