‘The Chosen’ Wins Movieguide Award for Most Inspiring Movie

Angel Studios’ hit television series “The Chosen” has received the Epiphany Prize for Most Inspiring Movie, along with two nominations for the 2023 Movieguide Awards.

The show, which depicts the life of Jesus, was nominated for Best Movie for Families (Season 3, Episodes 1 and 2) and the Grace Prize for Most Inspiring Performance for TV (Jonathan Roumie, who portrays Jesus in Season 3, Episode 3). Roumie has also recently starred in the film “Jesus Revolution”.

Neal Harmon, CEO of Angel Studios, expressed gratitude for the show’s recognition, saying “We are grateful for the relentless hard work of ‘The Chosen’ and Angel Studios teams, and were honored to participate in this incredible awards show together.”

The Movieguide Awards, often referred to as the Oscars for Christian entertainment, recognizes wholesome, spiritually uplifting, inspirational, redemptive, and moral movies and television shows.

“The Chosen” first debuted in 2019 and has since become a popular show. Season 3 is currently available for streaming on various platforms. The release date for Season 4 has not been announced, but the eight-episode series is currently in the funding process. According to Texas Monthly, “The Chosen” is the most successful crowdfunded project ever, with a total of seven seasons planned.
