My name is Markeyus Franks and when I was 29, I was playing basketball and the last thing I remember, I was jumping up for a rebound and I blacked out. The next thing I remember, I was on the ground waking up. It was like someone jump started me. People were crowded over me and an ambulance took me to the hospital.
The doctors came in and told me that I have congestive heart failure. I didn’t know what to say and what to do. I was a 29-year-old new dad who just had twin boys. They told me that they didn’t really know what was going on, but I would have to change my diet and I won’t be able to play basketball anymore.
It was a struggle. I started buckling down on preachers who also taught. I would just listen for hours about how to be healed. I wanted answers. Why am I suffering? I would go to preachers and told them about my condition and asked them to pray for me. None of it worked.
However, there was one preacher, after he prayed over me, I felt so good I thought I could run a marathon. But it went away! Then, I started learning some more and I figured out that he wants me to learn how to fight.
I commanded my sickness to go, but it didn’t go. I was still feeling weak and having irregular heartbeats. I started fighting and quoting scripture. I was getting stronger and every time I felt something, I said, “In the name of Jesus, I command you to leave!”
I was believing but at the same time, I was asking if we had the power to control and command sickness to leave. I can’t believe that God has given us authority. God’s word is like medicine to our body. The doctors never knew what I had but I found these 31 healing scriptures.
